Schenectady New York: Experience the Rich Culture of America’s Oldest Cities

By | Schenectady New York | No Comments

Schenectady was designated as a borough in 1765 and chartered as the city of Schenectady in 1798.  The Mohawk Indians named the city “Schau-naugh-ta-da”, which meant “Over the Pine Plains.”1

Schenectady is nestled in a bend of the Mohawk River.  It is an hour south of Lake George and 20 minutes North of Albany, the State Capital of New York.  It is one of the oldest cities in the USA and very rich in culture, history, and tradition. Please watch this amazing “Welcoming Video” from Gary McCarthy, Schenectady’s 2020.  Here is a few things to do in this wonderful, rich historic city with directions from our dental office.

The small amount of material on display increased quickly to more than 20 planes and several exhibits.  An interactive display and a simulated ride were added. The research library houses more than 5000 photos, 10,000 books, and more than 6,000 other historical documents.
