Cone Beam Computed Tomography (C.B.C.T.) is a radiographic imaging method that allows accurate, three dimensional (3-D) imaging of hard and soft tissue structure. Dr. Oyangen uses this advanced x-ray machine in situations where regular dental x-rays are not sufficient enough. The C.B.C.T. scan aids Dr. Oyangen in the preparation and placement of dental implants, accurately locating the nerve canal for a root canal and for detecting fractures in a tooth that are not seen by a standard x-rays. It is a great tool for treatment planning since the patient and Dr. Oyangen can see this 3 dimensional image together.
