Dr. Roy Oyangen is proud to use a cone beam Computerized Tomographer (C.B.C.T.) for 3D imaging in Schenectady, NY. Our dentist uses this advanced X-ray machine in situations where regular dental X-rays are not enough and he needs to see more. The C.B.C.T. has an X-ray beam in the shape of a cone. This equipment travels around the patient to produce several images. These images are put together, generating 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, and bone. These 3D images are produced using only one scan. C.B.C.T. images allow Dr. Roy Oyangen to perform detailed treatment planning. Our dentist may use the C.B.C.T. scanner to:
- Accurately place dental implants
- Evaluate the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals, and nasal cavity
- Check bone structure, density, thickness, and tooth orientation
- Locate the origin of dental pain
Metal objects like jewelry, glasses, and hairpins should be removed or left at home for the scan, as they can affect the images. Our dentist may ask you to remove hearing aids and any removable dental work.
We invite you to contact Advanced Aesthetics Dentistry today to learn more and to schedule your appointment with our dentist.
